FREEDOM

As we get ready to celebrate another Independence Day reflecting on America's freedom from Great Britain's rule and the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776. Let us also reflect on the freedom that we have in Christ. Jesus Christ has freed us from the dominion of sin and our enslavement to the power of sin declaring us free to live for Him. Romans 3:23 declares that all of humanity has sinned in some way and have fallen short of the glory of God, however, in the next verse in Romans 3 we find God's declaration of man's freedom from sin. Romans 3:24 reads, "and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." In order to experience that redemption that came by Christ Jesus we must believe that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by dying on the cross, resurrecting from the dead, and taking on all of our sin, guilt, shame, etc...Upon Himself. Romans 10:9-10 declares, "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." If you do not have the freedom that Christ has offered from sin and the gift of eternal life, pray to God now to reveal the truth about His Son, Jesus Christ to you and to give you the faith to believe in His finished work and confess Jesus as Lord. We thank God for the freedom that we have in America as many men and women have sacrificed their time and lives in order for us to live as a free people. If you love the freedom that you experience as an American citizen, you will be enthralled by the freedom that comes from being a believer in Christ. Read the Bible which displays the mind of God and experience the ultimate freedom! To whet your appetite here is just a sample of the benefits that a believer has…
